UMP is chambered for .45 ACP cartidges to provide more stopping power against unarmored targets (with slightly lower effectiveness at longer range) than the MP5. Cyclic rate of fire of UMP is 600 rounds/min which makes it the slowest firing sub-machine gun on the market."
